What is Sleep and Hibernate in Windows7
When it comes to power management, Microsoft has equipped windows7 with many power saving options. The basic idea is when you are not using your desktop or Laptop, the unnecessary power supply to computer parts should be stopped. This can be achieved by shutting down your computer but the problem is that when you next time start your computer, it will not start from the point where you were last time. To overcome these problems, Microsoft has come up with two options known as sleep and hibernation which helps in reducing your battery drainage of laptop.
